Company History

F.J. Evans Engineering Company, Inc. was founded in 1927 by Fitz James Evans, Sr. Originally from Pennsylvania, he attended Penn State University, then moved south and soon had the reputation as one of the most outstanding combustion engineers of his time.

After his son, Fitz James Evans, Jr. attended Yale University and served in the Korean War, he came to work for the company in 1963. He pioneered gas infrared heating equipment as an alternative to conventional warm air systems. Infrared is now recognized by everyone as a more efficient way to heat appropriate facilities.

After attending Auburn University, Rick Evans joined the company in 1989. While the company is still best known for its experience and expertise with infrared applications and equipment, we now have grown and represent many lines of heating and ventilation equipment.

After three generations, our goal remains the same; to provide southern industry the finest quality equipment at competitive prices while offering our knowledge, experience and care for the customer at no charge.
